Beyond jewellery

The same craft at another scale: the silver objects and church maquettes of the family workshop in Yerevan, and the installations Momik has worked on.

Silver objects

Cups, goblets and fruit bowls in gold-plated silver, set with agate, garnet, nephrite, mother of pearl and turquoise. One-off pieces of up to 1.5 kg, made in the family workshop in Yerevan.

Installations

Momik has worked on commissions for the city and for companies: a giant fibreglass chess set in central Yerevan, a 1.5 m metal-plated Bocca della Verità for an Italian restaurant, and the first Tesla charger in Armenia.

Armenian church maquettes

Work by Samvel Hakobyan

Samvel Hakobyan, People’s Master of Armenia, has spent forty years building more than thirty maquettes of Armenian churches: in tufa, the volcanic stone of the churches, and in silver and gold with obsidian, agate and mother of pearl. It is the family workshop where Momik learned.
